How to get the most from your massage
You've booked your appointment — here are a few simple things that help you get the most from it.
Before your session
- Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in and aren't rushing through the door.
- Have a light snack beforehand rather than coming in very hungry or very full.
- Think about your focus. If there's a particular area you'd like worked on, jot it down or mention it when you arrive.
During
Communication is everything. Let your therapist know if you'd like more or less pressure — there's no "right" amount, only what feels right for you on the day. If anything is uncomfortable, just say so.
After your session
- Drink some water and take it easy for the rest of the day where you can.
- Move gently. A short walk or some light stretching can feel lovely.
- Notice how you feel over the next day or two — it helps you plan your next visit.
Looking after yourself between visits
