- Where is Fern & Soul?
- Fern & Soul is a remedial massage studio at Unit 2, 39 King George Street, Innaloo WA 6018 — a short drive from Westfield Innaloo, with easy parking nearby. We welcome clients from Innaloo and the surrounding northern suburbs of Perth, including Osborne Park, Karrinyup, Scarborough, Doubleview and Stirling.
- When does Fern & Soul open?
- Fern & Soul is opening in mid-to-late July 2026 — we will confirm the exact date soon. In the meantime you can join our wait list for 20% off your first visit, or book online via Fresha.
- How do I book an appointment?
- The quickest way to book is online via Fresha — you can choose your treatment, duration and time in about a minute. If you have a question before booking, you are welcome to call (08) 6285 0378 or email bookings@fernandsoul.com.au.
- What are your opening hours?
- We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9:30am to 5:30pm, and closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. All times are Perth time (AWST).
- What is the difference between remedial and relaxation massage?
- Remedial massage is targeted, therapeutic treatment for muscular tension, injury recovery and chronic pain — it works on a specific problem area. Relaxation massage is a flowing, full-body massage designed to calm the nervous system and ease everyday stress, rather than focusing on a particular injury. If you are not sure which suits you, your therapist will help you decide at the start of your session.
- Can I claim my massage on private health insurance?
- Yes. Fern & Soul has HICAPS on site, so if your extras cover includes remedial massage you can claim your rebate on the spot and pay only the gap. We accept claims from recognised Australian health funds, including HBF, Medibank, Bupa and NIB. The exact rebate depends on your individual level of cover, so it is worth checking your policy.
- Is the therapist qualified?
- Yes. Treatments are delivered by an experienced remedial massage therapist who is a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA). That registration is also what allows your treatment to be eligible for HICAPS health-fund claims.
- How much does a massage cost?
- Treatments start from $70, with prices depending on the type of massage and the duration you choose. For example, a 60-minute remedial, relaxation or deep tissue massage is $110. You can see the full menu of treatments, durations and prices on our Services page.
- What happens during my first visit, and what should I bring?
- Your session begins with a short, relaxed chat about how you are feeling and what you would like to work on. Your therapist then tailors the treatment to you in a private, quiet room, and finishes with simple aftercare advice. There is no need to bring anything except your health-fund card if you would like to claim via HICAPS.
- Do I have to get undressed for a massage?
- You only undress to your comfort level. You are always covered with towels or a sheet, and only the area being worked on is uncovered at any time. Your therapist will step out while you get settled on the table, and your privacy and comfort come first throughout.
- Is massage safe during pregnancy?
- Fern & Soul offers a dedicated pregnancy massage — a gentle, supported treatment tailored to the comfort and safety of expecting mothers. As with any treatment during pregnancy, if you have any pregnancy-related health concerns it is sensible to check with your doctor or midwife first. Massage is complementary care and is not a substitute for medical advice.
- Can massage help with a sore back or sciatica?
- Massage can help ease the muscular tension that often contributes to lower-back discomfort and sciatic-related pain. We offer a focused sciatica massage that works through the lower back, glutes and legs, as well as remedial and deep tissue treatments for general muscular pain. For persistent or severe pain, it is best to also have it assessed by a GP or physiotherapist.
- How often should I have a massage?
- It depends on what you are working on. For a specific injury or area of chronic tension, more regular sessions can help in the early stages; for general wellbeing and stress relief, many people come monthly or as needed. Your therapist can suggest a rhythm that suits your body and your goals.
